Monitoring, Events, and Error Recovery
There are several ways to monitor events and check for and recover from errors.
Process Monitor
To display the process monitor tab (named Processes), click Monitoring > Processes
The process monitor lets you monitor processes and chains, respond to events, and troubleshoot errors. When you select a process or Chain in the Process tab, you can see detailed information about the execution of that process in the detail view on the bottom. For example, you can see output logs, parameter values, and execution times for a given process, whether that process is independent or part of a Chain.
Operator Messages
When an event is raised, an Operator Message can be automatically sent. This alerts the operator that manual intervention is required. For more information, see Working With Operator Messages.
Note: For more information about events, see Events.
Status Handlers
Chains can use Status Handlers to automatically respond to error conditions. For more information, see About Chain Definitions.
Log Files
You can troubleshoot errors using log files. To view the log files for a process, see the Files area in the Processes detail view. For more information, see About Process Monitors.
Note: Logs for a process that runs on a Platform Agent are stored on the computer where that process runs. For more information, see On-Site Process Servers.
Process Filtering
You can filter for processes that are in an error state. For more information, see Process Monitor Filters.
Alerts
You can trigger alerts when errors occur, including automatic mail messages. For more information, see Active Monitoring Module.
