Creating a Job Server

To create a Job Server:

  1. Navigate to Configure > Control > Job Servers.

  2. Click New.

  3. Specify configuration information for the Job Server using the Job Server tabs.

  4. If the configuration calls for a Platform Agent, RunMyJobs uses the configuration information to create a preconfigured Platform Agent installer. Download the installer, then copy it to the target computer and run it there.

The specific procedure for creating a Job Server differs for different Job Server types.

  • Linux, UNIX, or Windows; Low Volume; and Monitoring Only: You must configure and download a Platform Agent for the Job Server to communicate with. Also, you must manually install the Platform Agent for these types of Job Server to work.

  • JDBC: You must create a Database object by providing connection and user information for the database you want to connect to. To do so, navigate to Configure > Admin > Manage Connectors > Databases.
