Privileges Required to Use Job Servers

To use Job Servers, you need one of the following:

  • scheduler-administrator or redwood-administrator role
  • system or Partition-level permissions
  • Object-specific privileges

Using Job Servers

The following privilege ranks are available on Job Servers:

  • Create - allows you to create a Job Server on the level the privilege was granted (system, Partition), you have no further privileges through this rank, you automatically get All privilege rank on Job Servers you create.
  • View - allows you to view a Job Server on the level the privilege was granted (system, Partition), you have no further privileges through this rank.
  • View Processes - allows you to view processes of a Job Server on the level the privilege was granted (system, Partition), you have no further privileges through this rank.
  • Administrator - allows you to stop and start the Job Server, and view processes executed by the Job Server on the level the privilege was granted (system, Partition), you have no further privileges through this rank.
  • Edit - allows you to create, view, and edit a Job Server on the level the privilege was granted (system, Partition).
  • Delete - allows you to create, view, and delete a Job Server on the level the privilege was granted (system, Partition).
  • All - full control over a Job Server on the level the privilege was granted (system, Partition).

You always need View privileges on the Partition of the Job Server.

Job Servers can reference the following Objects, you need at least View privileges on these Objects as well as their Partition(s) when you want to create/edit/delete a Job Server that references them:

Built-in Roles

  • The scheduler-administrator or redwood-administrator built-in role provides full control over Job Servers.
  • The scheduler-viewer built-in role provides read-only access to Job Servers.

Creating Process Severs

You need one of the following privilege ranks to be able to create Job Servers:

  • Create - allows you to create Job Servers on the level the privilege was granted (system, Partition), you have no further privileges through this rank, you automatically get All privilege rank on Job Servers you create.
  • Edit - allows you to create, view, and edit all Job Servers on the level the privilege was granted (system, Partition).
  • Delete - allows you to create, view, and delete all Job Servers on the level the privilege was granted (system, Partition).
  • All - full control over all Job Servers on the level the privilege was granted (system, Partition).

You also require View privileges on the Partition of the Job Server.

Editing Process Severs

To successfully edit a Job Server, you must have one the following privileges:

  • Edit - privilege rank on the Job Server, or on Job Server in its Partition or system-wide
  • Delete - privilege rank on the Job Server, or on Job Server in its Partition or system-wide
  • All - privilege rank on the Job Server, or on Job Server in its Partition or system-wide
